Air Canada is showing flights from Ottawa to Tokyo, Japan for between $452 and $495 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
The flights have 1 stop each way, in Vancouver.
Ottawa to Osaka / Kyoto is also available for about $30 more, with dates as far away as May 2021.
You can also find Multi-City flights, where you fly into Tokyo, and then fly home from, say, Osaka, and keep the price in the $500s roundtrip.
It doesn't have to be Osaka that you return from, it's worth trying all airports in Japan at the moment. Some of the cheapest combinations are Tokyo and... Sapporo, Fukuoka, Nagoya, or Kobe.
